The following e-mail has been received at the 4HTA HQ:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Good morning,

We are seeing increasing reports of crime being discussed on various social media sites but not actually reported to the Police.
Please could I request that wherever possible the first point of call should be to report crime to the Police on 101 or 999.

Social media is not a reporting tool. We cannot take action if we are unaware of where crime is occurring and when crime is occurring.

Currently there has been a reduction in burglary and theft of vehicles across the area since April, however we are getting increasing reports of thefts from vehicles, we are trying to combat these crimes but cannot do so without information and intelligence coming directly to us via the above numbers.

Please pass this information on.

Many thanks

The family of Martyn Hett, brother of Year 11 pupil Nikita Murray, will hold a vigil at Heaton Moor Park, 9 Park Road, Heaton Moor, Stockport, SK4 4PY, on Sunday, 28th May, from 7-9pm. Martyn's family have said: "At 2233 on 22nd May 2017 our beloved son Martyn just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. "Words cannot describe the generosity and kindness our families have received over the last few days. "We are overwhelmed with the amount of lives he has touched and the kind words that are being said about him "Martyn was the icon of all our lives. His infectious laugh and his niche sense of humour will stay with us forever. He lived for every moment of every day, and fitted an entire lifetime of memories into his 29 years. "Whilst they have taken the life out of Martyn, no-one can and ever will take Martyn out of our lives." The family welcome anyone who wishes to attend. You may bring a candle to light, but balloons and Chinese lanterns are not permitted. The vigil is being co-ordinated with the police.
